The biggest drawback I have encountered is with dynamic blocks, nested dynamic blocks, or dynamic blocks with nested stretch parameters. Tech support at Bricsys, the forums, or your reseller should resolve any issues pretty quickly, usually 24hours, quicker if your close to Bricsys in the US, or if your reseller is on the ball. So if you’re using proprietary LISPs, some of them will need to be altered. Also, there’s no alternative innitcommandversion that I’ve found in BricsCAD. Not that I’ve ever separately scaled a block x and y, but I did have to rewrite the LISPs I use to accommodate it. some insert commands for blocks don’t use both x and y scale parameters in BricsCAD. However, the command structure is not identical between the two. If you go ultimate/BIM you get access to a lot of stuff that’s hidden away in Civil3D re:attributed entities. I run Corsair peripherals and I have to adjust my macros by 2-4ms so AutoCAD doesn’t constantly fall over itself. BricsCAD do a demo that shows the lag AutoCAD causes. AutoCAD boots about 7 instances of chrome when it starts up, reports on almost everything you do, constantly monitors your license. Functionally for drafting plans etc 100% BricsCAD.
